As you all know I travel all over the world. Staying in hotel after hotel. Crappy room service food, rude maids barging in the room way too early, snotty check in clerks, arrogant hotel managers, laundry that costs an arm and a leg, and that’s just off the top of my head. I am so tired of all theĀ hotels charging hundreds of dollars a night and yet I wake up most days and have some sort of travel struggle or inconvience. In the past few months I have opted to stay with friends as often as possible.
Initally, I was concerned about creating messes or inconviencing my friends, but as time has past I have just been disciplined enough to clean up after myself and contribute to the household I am staying in. The hospitality that I have been shown has been unreal. As a matter of fact, I now feel like I have several “homes” all around the nation.
It has enhanced my feelings of family and belonging, something that staying in a hotel could never do. The companionship is amazing, food is home cooked, the laundry is free, and some of my friends even have pets. If you know me, then you know how much I love animals.
Having a animal pal around while I’m away from mine brings a smile to my face every time!
I have to give my extreme gratitude to my friends who have opened their hearts and homes to me as I make my way. MUAH!!! I can only hope that I have been as great of a house guest as they have been hosts.
